ABOUT ME

Hello there, I’m Marcus. I am currently a student at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, pursuing a degree in Communication. I previously graduated from Republic Polytechnic with a Diploma in Mass Communication. I have a passion for writing and I hope to become a Digital media writer/editor one day. I hope to be able to produce content for both print and online readers.

I was an editor for The Republican Post Digital Desk. As the digital editor, I manage the content of the website, I also pitch story ideas and produce online material for the Republican Post.

​

My hobbies are binge watching Korean dramas and variety shows, photography and playing the piano. If i were to describe myself in one word it would be “tenacious”.

  • Communication

    • I am able to converse well in English as well as in Mandarin.

  • Leadership

    • I was the Digital Editor for The Republican Post (Online) and managed a team of 4 students to maintain and keep the website up-to-date.

    • I was also in charge of the writers to ensure that they kept to the deadline given for their deliverable. 

    • I was the President of my Secondary School’s Infocomm Club. There I helped organize bonding activities and handled administrative matters pertaining to the club. 

  • Adobe Premier Pro

    • I am familiar with Adobe Premier Pro, a video editing software. I have used this software to edit videos for assignments as well as for content to be uploaded on The Republican Post (Online).

  • Adobe Photoshop

    • I am familiar with Adobe Photoshop. I have used this software to edit pictures for assignments as well as produce content.

  • Adobe InDesign

    • I am familiar with Adobe InDesign, a software used to design layouts for print.

  • Adobe Lightroom 

    • I am familiar with Adobe Lightroom, a software used for photo editing. I use this software ​​​for a lot of my photo edits. 

  • Photography 

    • I am able to take pictures using a DSLR as well as an iPhone camera. ​

    • I am familiar with the basic DSLR camera functions.

    • I am also familiar with photo editing.
